Positioned For Purpose

“I will climb to my watch tower and stand at my guard post. There I will wait and see what the Lord says and how He will answer.” Habakkuk 2:1

There is a providence (meaning the divine hand of God) to being at the right place at the right time.

I used to wake up each day asking God for a divine appointment, that heavenly direction to a person to connect with that day but have somehow gotten out of the habit. I need that again. Those ‘go and do’ instructions that when we obey leave us saying wow God.

We can position ourselves to hear from God in many ways. Directly from Him in our quiet times and as we read the Bible and pray, within a church environment as we are inspired and challenged by Godly leaders, and from good friends who confirm a word that’s been simmering away in our spirit or let us know if we’ve gone off track. And actually, God spoke though a donkey (Numbers 22:28) so even a random encounter can bring a truth we need to hear or confirmation to something we are pondering.

We need to be positioned in the correct place, watching and on guard, waiting for direction. God is always speaking. If we are open to Him we will hear His voice.

Where do you connect with God? For me I find this is often during worship or walking along the beach. A thought will drop into my spirit, a prompt to prepare for this, let go of that, or reach out to this person. And as I read my Bible scripture comes alive and I will hear a whisper that I need to work on something, activate an area of faith or repent of a wrong behaviour. The heavenly call to action.

Learn to hear from God. Listen for the small still voice. God rewards those who diligently seek Him so let’s gain divine direction from the genius of the Holy Spirit and ask Him to lead us. Get wisdom and with that wisdom get understanding, not just truth but how to apply that truth to a situation.

Believing you will receive a divine download for your day because there’s a God moment at the end of your obedience.
